Underage Attendees

We welcome all underage attendees and their parents in accordance with the following policy:

VancouFur recognizes that the legal age of majority in BC is 19.

Minors aged 16 to 18 do not need the consent of a parent or legal guardian to register for membership and attend VancouFur.

Minor attendees aged 13 to 17 must be registered for a membership and carry a badge designating them as minors at all times. They are not permitted access to event spaces or content marked adult or 18+.

Minors aged 13 to 15 need the consent of a parent or legal guardian to register for a membership and attend VancouFur. A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT TO REGISTER AND SIGN for minors aged 13 to 15, no exceptions!

Minors aged 13 to 15 can attend the convention freely, unsupervised, once they have obtained a valid membership badge. We recommend that minors who will be roaming unsupervised talk to your parents and plan your day! Make sure you have a cellphone or a contact number and know where and when you will be meeting back up with your parents.

Children aged 12 and under can attend for free but must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian holding a valid membership badge at all times.

Parents attending with minors aged 4 to 12 must pick up a free KIT (Kid In Tow) badge for their children at Registration when they register. Infants do not need a KIT badge.

Parents attending with infants and minors aged 4 to 12 cannot bring their children in to restricted event spaces marked adult or 18+.

Non-Attending

VancouFur appreciates the generosity of our community. A "Non-Attending" membership can be purchased for $15.00 with the proceeds going to our Charity.

Interested in becoming part of the amazing team that makes VancouFur possible? Then we want YOU! Join the volunteer team for 2019 and help us make next year's convention even better than the last! We need a all the help we can get, so come down, bring your friends and tell everybody you know how great volunteering at VancouFur can be!

Underage Volunteers

VancouFur recognizes that the legal age of majority in BC is 19.

Minors aged 15 to 18 can volunteer for VancouFur without parental consent.

Minors aged 13 to 17 are not eligible to volunteer as department Leads or Executives and cannot be assigned volunteer duties that require working past 22:00 or assisting with and/or badge checking for restricted content or events marked adult or 18+.

Minors aged 13 to 14 need parental consent to volunteer, please have your parents fill out this volunteer consent form.

Minors aged 13 to 14 cannot be assigned volunteer duties that require the handling of monetary transactions.

Children age 12 and under are not permitted to volunteer.

Parents wanting to volunteer who are attending with children age 12 or under are welcome to volunteer with their kids so long as the parent is able to maintain adequate supervision of their children at all times, and having the children present doesn't unnecessarily disrupt the event or task being volunteered for.
