Youth 13-15 require a parent or legal guardian must be present to register and sign for their registration. If you are sending your child with another family that is not a legal parent or guardian, you will need send them with two copies of the “For Parents to Give Consent to Another Adult form“. Please download the form and print and sign two copies to send with your designated guardian for registration. Once you have preregistered and paid you will pick up your registration at the doors of the convention. Please note that items not paid for by the preregistration deadline of Feb 17th cannot be guaranteed at con. This includes sponsor and patron gifts.

Underage Attendees

We welcome all underage attendees and their parents in accordance with the following policy:

  • VancouFur recognizes that the legal age of majority in BC is 19.
  • Minors aged 16 to 18 do not need the consent of a parent or legal guardian to register for membership and attend VancouFur.
  • Minor attendees aged 13 to 17 must be registered for a membership and carry a badge designating them as minors at all times. They are not permitted access to event spaces or content marked adult or 18+.
  • Minors aged 13 to 15 need the consent of a parent or legal guardian to register for a membership and attend VancouFur. A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT TO REGISTER AND SIGN for minors aged 13 to 15, no exceptions!
  • Minors aged 13 to 15 can attend the convention freely, unsupervised, once they have obtained a valid membership badge. We recommend that minors who will be roaming unsupervised talk to your parents and plan your day! Make sure you have a cellphone or a contact number and know where and when you will be meeting back up with your parents.
  • Children aged 12 and under can attend for free but must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian holding a valid membership badge at all times.
  • It is strongly recommended that all attendees, including children, be vaccinated for their safety as Covid-19 is still circulating at events such as ours. However, vaccinations are no longer required for events. Masks will be required in con spaces for children for ages 12+, 11 under is optional. For more detailed information, please see our 2023 covid policy.
  • Parents attending with minors aged 11 or under must register for, or pick up a free KIT (Kid In Tow) badge for their children at Registration when they register. Infants do not need a KIT badge.
  • Parents attending with infants and minors aged 4 to 12 cannot bring their children in to restricted event spaces marked adult or 18+.
  • All attendees, including minors, will be required to follow all safety guidelines which may include, but not be limited to, social distancing, hand sanitizing, and wearing masks.
